Car seats and boosters — the plan
The intention is that car seats and boosters will be available on request, fitted to the vehicle before you are picked up, at no separate charge once rates are published. What we will need from families is each child's age and approximate weight, so the right seat type — infant carrier, convertible seat or booster — is planned for the vehicle in advance.
Families are also welcome to bring their own seat; it is expected to travel free and the driver would help fit it, which many parents prefer since they need the same seat for the flight anyway.

Strollers, luggage and the vehicle you would actually need
A family of four travelling with two large suitcases, carry-ons and a stroller needs more space than a standard SUV once a car seat is fitted — the same practical maths that applies at any airport. Once the service is live, telling us about a stroller or extra luggage in advance would let us plan a larger vehicle at no surprise to you.
A longer drive with children
Because Pedernales province is a rural, sparsely populated corner of the country, a transfer from CBJ to most destinations is expected to be a longer continuous drive than an airport-to-resort hop elsewhere in the Dominican Republic. That means planning breaks, snacks and entertainment for children matters more here than at a short urban transfer — practical advice we intend to expand once real drive conditions from the terminal are confirmed.
We are not able to say today how long any specific drive will take, since the airport's access road and the exact terminal location have not been officially confirmed.
Travelling to Bahía de las Águilas or Lago Enriquillo with children
Two of the region's best-known sights need extra planning with young children. Bahía de las Águilas, inside Jaragua National Park, is reached by boat from La Cueva or an unpaved track, which is worth knowing before promising children a beach day. Lago Enriquillo, the largest lake in the Caribbean and the lowest point in the region, is reached by road through Duvergé — a full day out rather than a quick stop, so plan accordingly.
