Find your accommodation in Cabo Rojo, Pedernales or the Barahona coast. These hotel route guides explain the actual destination and access details, so you can plan without guessing the transfer zone.
Airport opening: what is confirmed
The new Cabo Rojo airport is being developed in Oviedo, Pedernales province. The Presidency’s report of 7 September 2026 gives February 2027 as the planned start of operations. This is a target, not a confirmed flight programme. Airport pickup arrangements and journey times must be checked once operations are confirmed.
Eco del Mar is a coastal lodge at Playa de la Cueva in Cabo Rojo, rather than a hotel in Pedernales town. Its own reservation page provides this address. Choose the accommodation entrance, not simply a generic Cabo Rojo map pin.
Rancho Típico Cueva de las Águilas is the coastal glamping destination in Cabo Rojo. Glamping Ecolodge Cueva de las Águilas refers to this accommodation; Vista de Águilas Ecolodge is a separate hotel in Pedernales town.
Vista de Águilas Ecolodge is the town hotel at Calle 16 de Agosto No. 27 in Pedernales. Its website also promotes coastal glamping, but that accommodation is a different destination in Cabo Rojo.
Platón Ecolodge is inland in the municipality of Paraíso, Barahona, on Carretera El Platón km 7. It is not a drop-off in central Barahona; the final approach to the lodge needs specific planning.
Hotel Playazul is on the Barahona–Paraíso road at km 7, on the coast south of Barahona. The hotel’s contact information identifies this location, which is distinct from accommodation in the city centre.
Hotel El Quemaito is in Juan Esteban, at km 10 on the Barahona–Paraíso road. It belongs to the Barahona transfer zone, but the destination is a coastal hotel rather than Barahona city centre.
Daymond Blue Tropical Lodge’s own website places the hotel at km 9 on the Barahona–Paraíso road, in the El Quemaito area. This is a coastal destination in the Barahona zone, separate from Hotel El Quemaito and from Barahona city centre.
The Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism lists Hotel Panoramica at Playa La Meseta in the Bahoruco area of Barahona. The accommodation belongs to the Barahona transfer zone, but the relevant destination is the coastal property, not a city-centre hotel or a generic beach stop.
Hotel Pedernales Italia is a town hotel in Pedernales. Its property listing on Booking.com gives Calle 1ro de Abril No. 2 and uses the longer name Hotel Pedernales Italia Republica Dominicana. These names refer to one destination in the Pedernales zone, not a resort in Cabo Rojo.
Hostal Doña Chava is in Barrio Alcoa in Pedernales town. An older official tourism brochure gives Calle Segunda No. 5; the Hostelworld property listing gives c/ P. N. Hugson No. 5. The street names differ, so we publish the agreed neighbourhood rather than treating either street label as a verified entrance.
