What 'private' is designed to mean at CBJ
A private transfer, once CBJ is operating, would put one vehicle and one driver at your service for the whole journey from the terminal to your destination in Pedernales, Cabo Rojo, Bahía de las Águilas or further afield — no other passengers, no shared stops. That is the model we are planning around, the same model already used by transfer operators at other Dominican airports such as Las Américas (SDQ) and María Montez International (BRX) near Barahona.
Because CBJ has not opened, we cannot describe its arrivals hall, meeting points or terminal layout — none of that exists yet and none of it is confirmed. What we can describe is the destination side: the roads, towns and protected areas of the south-west that a transfer would actually drive through.

The region a transfer would serve
Pedernales town is the provincial capital and the settlement closest to the airport site. From there, the coastal highway (Carretera Barahona–Pedernales, part of Route 44) already connects the province to Barahona, and onward to Santo Domingo. Cabo Rojo itself is a coastal area with a working port and a mining history, sitting beside the planned airport site and its proposed resort development.
Further south, Bahía de las Águilas lies inside Jaragua National Park and is currently reached only by boat from La Cueva or by a rough unpaved track — there are no hotels on the beach itself. A planned transfer service would need to work within those existing access realities rather than inventing new ones.
How the advance interest process works
Because there is no live booking system for an airport that has not opened, the process today is an expression of interest: you tell us your expected travel window, destination in the region and party size, and we keep that on file. When CBJ's opening date, access road and terminal arrangements are officially confirmed, we contact everyone on the list first with real details and rates.

What we will not claim today
We will not describe CBJ's arrivals procedure, meeting point, parking, or any airline or route serving it, because none of that has been announced. We also will not quote a price: rates depend on confirmed distances and operating costs that do not exist until the airport itself does. Anything you read on this site that sounds specific about the terminal is a mistake, not a fact — please tell us if you find one.
