If your checked bag does not arrive, follow the operating airline’s reporting instructions and tell your transfer provider that you have landed but are not ready for pickup. Request a revised arrangement explicitly. This is advance-planning guidance: a CBJ enquiry does not confirm a vehicle, waiting allowance or baggage-delivery service. [1]
Start with the airline’s baggage process
Check the actual arrival airport on your ticket. Ask the operating airline or its baggage handler what to report before you leave, how to retain the report reference and how to follow the case.
Keep your baggage tag and travel documents. A transfer message does not open an airline baggage report, and this guide identifies no CBJ baggage desk or terminal procedure.
Send a pickup update while you are still inside
Tell the provider: ‘Flight … arrived at … airport on … local date. I am reporting a missing checked bag and am not ready for collection. My destination is … and my enquiry or booking reference is … . Please confirm the next step.’
Include a reachable contact number. If you cannot estimate your exit time, say so rather than inventing one.
Reconfirm waiting and the collection plan
Flight tracking indicates an aircraft’s progress, not that every passenger has finished baggage formalities. Ask what waiting, extra charges, amendments or cancellation terms apply to your actual arrangement.
Obtain a written answer about whether and when collection can proceed. Do not assume unlimited waiting, automatic rescheduling or that other members of your party can leave in the vehicle without a revised plan.
Keep baggage delivery separate from your ride
Ask the airline what delivery or collection options it can confirm for the actual accommodation. Give the exact property name, address, reachable contact and dates you will be there.
Ask the hotel whether it can accept a bag and under what arrangements. A transfer driver is not automatically authorised to collect luggage, complete formalities or bring it later; any separate request needs explicit acceptance.
Update the address if you change hotels
If the bag is still missing when you move, update the airline’s baggage record through its designated channel and confirm the change was received. Tell the first and next accommodation what has been agreed.
Updating your transfer enquiry does not update the airline’s delivery record. Do not assume delivery to a remote lodge, a particular entrance or within a fixed number of hours.
Keep one clear record and check the return separately
Keep the airline report reference, the current delivery address and the provider’s written pickup response together. Say how many people and bags are travelling now, including any equipment changes.
For the return, separately confirm the departure airport, flight date and number, plus the hotel pickup date and time. If travelling before CBJ operations are confirmed, plan around the airport on your actual ticket.
Frequently asked questions
- Will the driver wait while I report my bag?
- Only the terms and revised response for your arrangement can answer that. Contact the provider promptly; do not interpret a landed flight or sent message as confirmation of waiting.
- Can the transfer provider collect the bag later?
- Do not assume so. Ask the airline about its requirements and ask separately whether the provider can accept that task. This website does not confirm a baggage-collection or delivery service.
- Does changing my hotel in the transfer enquiry change the airline’s delivery address?
- No. Update the airline’s record through its own channel and confirm the hotel can receive the bag. Keep the passenger transfer and baggage arrangements separate.
- Does a landed flight mean I am ready for pickup?
- No. You may still be reporting baggage. Send your readiness status directly and wait for the provider’s reply; flight tracking alone does not confirm a revised collection.
